Seymour blinked as consciousness returned.

Not even bothering to notice his surroundings, he shot up into a sitting position on the bed. "Anzi! Anzi’s—where am I?" he muttered, realizing he’d been covered in a blanket.

Upon further inspection he was also in his room, not where he’d last left himself. He also noticed he felt as if he hadn’t had a bath in over a week.

"Seymour!" Someone yelled and fiercely hugged him.

"Um…" he said. To his knowledge, there were no words for how confuses he was. Last he checked he wasn’t dead; the farplane didn’t have beds as he recalled. "…Mom?"

"My little boy," she said, petting his hair. He noticed her eyes still half-focused and decided not to tell her that he was obviously not five years old anymore.

He tried to think, but nothing even vaguely possible came to mind. "What the hell’s going on?" he asked, getting right to the point.

She pulled herself away and sighed.

"That bad, is it?" Seymour asked, getting out of the bed. What the hell had happened? Well, he’d try to make that his next question.

"All the faith have returned," Juuno said. "Are you well, now?"

"Well, considering I have no idea what happened: maybe." Seymour moved over to the window and looked out. The trees hadn’t sprouted legs, derooted themselves, and walked off. What exactly did he think he’d see out the window? He had no idea, but he felt something had happened, on a scale big enough to see it from here.

"It’s complicated."

"It always is," he said, not turning from the window. He swore there had been something out there. Now he felt as if he’d missed it. He felt something… and for some reason it reminded him of Jyrrin.

"Sin is back," she said.

"Sin?" he asked. That was it! That was what the familiar smell, the voices, and every weird thing about Jyrrin when she had come back. Well, not quite. The ‘not quite’ part confused him. And why the hell did he think he could see something far away through this window? Why did it remind him of Jyrrin?

"Almost," she said.

"…Almost…" Wasn’t Jyrrin pregnant? Yes, she was definitely pregnant; something which would have baffled him, if the smell and the fact that she seemed to be flirting with him hadn’t been so distracting. Why on earth would Jyrrin have a baby? And why was it…

"I think I understand." Now he really needed a shower. Ugh. Too many dead things lately. Well, lately for him.

Sin must have… done… something. The must be why he thought he’d see it. He already felt it. Whatever fireworks or display of magic had happened, he’d missed it.

"I wasn’t told there were Al Behd around here," Juuno spoke up.

"I didn’t expect you back so soon," Seymour said. "I thought it was only right, after what I did."

"Seymour—" she said, getting up.

He raised his hand, stopping the conversation before it started. He knew what she was going to say. He didn’t want to hear it.

"Where’s Anzi?"

"Jyscal said he Jyrrin took her and he sent someone after him," she said. "The Al Behd have taken over, I don’t like it."

"He’s faced insurgents before," Seymour said. "How long have I been out?" he asked.

"Two weeks, I was told."

Seymour wondered what to do. He wondered what he could do. Sin—or whatever—was on everyone’s top ten list of ‘things we hate.’ Just above him, probably. Saving the world was out; no one would back him on that decision.

Okay, so the salvation of the world lay in the hands of… The Al Behd? Probably not, considering their leader. Even allied with the Guado, it was a hopeless cause.

Jyscal… Seymour decided his father had his own problems. Seymour was probably one of them again. No hope there… not like there ever was before.

It looked lie yet again the world’s fate lay in the hands of Yuna… great. It was hopeless.

"Seymour?" Juuno asked.

"I need a shower," he said. If he wasn’t doomed, he was going to have a shower first.

"Seymour—" she said, trying to reach for him, but he was fast and she was blind. That and he ignored her, thinking she didn’t want him to leave just yet. She’d known a little, shy child that was alert to her every word. What she had was a sarcastic man who paid little attention to authority not his own.

Seymour opened the door and stopped in the doorway. In truth, he’d expected his palace of residence to stay the way he’d left it, even if he’d nearly died.

For once he’d like it if he nearly died without a disaster.

Yuna was sitting by the stairs, chatting up a very familiar blonde who obviously couldn’t dress himself.

Well, fine, if that’s how things were going to be. Life suddenly sucked again did it? That did it. That was the last straw.

Seymour stormed past them, hoping they’d give him the peace to make it to a shower at least.

"Seymour!" Yuna cried out.

Life SUCKED.

Seymour turned to look at them. Yuna stood up and approached him to hug him. He stopped her by putting his hand on her head.

"…Hi…?" Tidus said. He seemed to be wondering whether to shake hands or to grab part of the banister and defend himself.

"Don’t bother," Seymour said, taking his hand away, confident Yuna wasn’t going to latch onto him.

"…Okay," Tidus said. Good. His version of ‘defending himself’ was ‘hit thing that irritated him even slightly until it was beaten so badly it was unidentifiable or it ate him.’

"Yuna, do you know where Anzi is?" Seymour asked.

"She… was a live the last time I saw her."

"Wasn’t Anzi the one who—What?" Tidus asked, being glared at by Yuna.

"How lovely, more good news," Seymour said. "What happened?"

Yuna and Tidus exchanged glances.

"Anzi stabbed me," Yuna said, lifting her shirt up slightly to show the bandages. Seymour didn’t seem to react. He felt something; he just didn’t show it.

"Was he with you?" Seymour asked.

"You’re saying it’s my fault some crazy lady tried to attack Yuna with a knife?" Tidus asked.

Seymour grabbed Tidus’s hair and tossed him backwards. "Watch who you insult!"

Tidus didn’t reply he just held his head and muttered about it hurting.

"Jyrrin’s manipulative, she’s only nice if she wants to sleep with you, and neither of you are her type. At least she admits it when she doesn’t like you." Seymour stalked off down the hall, ignoring when Yuna called out to him.

Juuno wandered over to them, only barely looking in their direction. "I warned him about having feelings for an Al Behd. It would seem the only thing they are good for is murder."

She too wandered off, abandoning Tidus and Yuna to themselves.

"So…." Tidus said. "What’s going on exactly?"
