The Oekaki BBS, or Oekaki Board is an online messageboard that lets you post images created with a java applet. You
can view the artwork created by other visitors and read their comments, as well as add your own.
The drawing application can be accessed by clicking on 'Draw regular' or 'Draw hentai' in the lefthand menu. Please
keep adult themed artwork to the 'hentai' board, and the leave the regular artwork to the 'regular' section. To view
artwork in either section select 'view regular' or 'view hentai'.
A detailed explanation on the board's various funtions is available underneath the applet -- just scroll down
before starting to draw and you'll see for yourself. The major difference between this board and the Groupboard
is that this has a more elaborate set of tools and colourmanagement. (Watercolours for instance.)
The board has quite a bit of room for saved artwork but not infinite -- it can house some 500 images before it will
start to recycle to preserve space. If you create artwork, please save it to your own computer as well, just in case.
Your pc is what determines how fast the java applet will function.. the faster your pc, the easier it will be to use. Java is a
notorious resourceshog, so you're warned. Viewing artwork can be done at all times, and does not need any java capabilities
from your browser. It must be able to handle Portable Network Graphics (PNG) files, but onwards of Internet Explorer 4.0
and Netscape 4.7x you should have no problems at all. PNG is a compressionmethod like GIF, but royalty free, and more
efficient without altering artwork, like JPG does.)
