| Background Info | Nanami is Riou (Suikoden 2's hero)'s older sister and one of Jowy Atreides' best friends. Nanami is extremely overprotective of Riou's well-being, especially after he becomes the leader of the Orange Army. Nanami is a terrible cook: her 'special' recipes are frequently made with too much salt. Nanami also knows how to fight with a sanchousei (three-stick flail), and has a powerful (albeit humorous) unite attack with Riou. Nanami is devastated when Jowy manages to become the king of Highland, turning the two former friends into fierce enemies, as they were destined to become. Nanami, caught in the middle, must cope with her brother and best friend becoming enemies and the strains of war. Nanami sometimes tries to pressure Riou into leaving the fighting to adults, but she also understands where he is coming from and doesn't force him to stop. Eventually, Nanami leaves the party for good. Depending upon which ending you get, she can either die from an arrow wound or survive and travel with Riou and Jowy, rekindling their childhood friendships. All in all, Nanami is an average girl who wants to be with her brother and friend, despite the heinous war surrounding them. |
