| Background Info | Marisa Kirisame is one of the most important sub characters of the entire Touhou series, perhaps second in importance to Reimu. Marisa first appears in Touhou 2 as an enemy and servant to the demonic ghost Mima, but has since evolved into an ordinary human magician/witch and a persistent second playable character to accompany Reimu since Touhou 3. Marisa is a hard worker who tries to catch up to Reimu's latent talents by constantly studying in the Forest of Magic. She is notorious for stealing ideas for her own spells, such as Yuka Kazami's vicious Master Spark, Patchouli Knowledge's Non-Directional Laser, and Mima's overall astronomy-themed attacks. Marisa has a disagreeable and confident personality, but isn't impossibly arrogant. It seems she lacks respect for her fellow humans, so isn't seen with humans too often. She basically leads a self-indulgent life of playing and training, scouring Gensokyo for trouble so she can improve her abilities as a magician. She is often called 'an ordinary human magician', and is a collectomaniac. She has so many useless grimoires and magic items that an avalance of junk could occur in her house. |
